OUR STORY:I have 5 Fresian bull calves called Fergus who is completely black, Harry who is white with 2 black splodges, Larry who is completely white, Gary who is kind of stripey and Barry who is black with a big white splodge on his chest.  I first fed them twice a day with milk and moozlee, but now I only feed them once a day with milk and Frame Grain & Seeds 20% Protein. When I first got them, I had them in a shed but now they are out in the paddock and can go up the hill.

Calfs Details: Trixie/Big red, Heifer, Beef dairycross, DOB 11/08/18,

OUR STORY:  I have had kid goats for calf clubs right through my primary/intermediate years. I have missed having an Ag day pet. Mum said i could help her feed 25 beef calves. Mum has allowed me to purchase one of the calves and if i rear it and help mum feed all the others im allowed to sell it and have the money to put into my account. First thing i learnt is that a good beef calf needs five points (4 white socks, white face, white tail). I chose the nicest looking calf so it will sell well when reared.

Calfs Details: Lilly, Heifer, Jersey, DOB 15-Jul,

OUR STORY:  My calf’s name is “Lilly” she is a Jersey. Lilly is a special calf because we were doing a night check and we see a heifer looking in the creek we see a calf doing its last kick of life under water. Dad chucks her on the bank and gives her CPR. We bring her to the calf shed. Mum and I bath her. Mum said she had a 30% chance of living. It took her a couple of days in the heat box to come right. I fell in love with her and now she is my pet.

Calfs Details: Darling, Heifer, Jersey X, DOB 15th July 2018,

OUR STORY:  My calf’s name is “Darling”, she is 69 days old today. I feed her milk, meal and opti-guard. I picked this calf because she was the friendliest calf in the shed. Her favorite scratching spot is under her neck. When I scratch her she points her nose up to the sky. There is one game we play together, we run up to the top of the hill and race down to see who wins. She like betting me.

Calfs Details: Tiny Bell,  Heifer, friesian, DOB 17/07/18,

OUR STORY:  My calf is called Tiny Bell. She is a friesian from the Bellas farm in Levin and when we got her she was extremely cute and very very cheeky. She feeds up well, when she gets the taste of milk in her mouth she won’t stop trying to go for more and she is growing huge! My favorite part about her is when she is really excited, I rub under her chin and she calms down immediately. She is so cute and adorable, I am so happy we got her and that we can enter her in Calf Club NZ.

Calfs Details: Poppy, Heifer, Jersey, DOB 12-Jul-18,

OUR STORY:  On 18 August 2018 I went out to chose my calf. It was really hard because there were a lot of friendly calves. I chose Poppy because she wasn’t too bossy and stuff. I named her Poppy because her Mum’s name was Toffee Pop.

Calfs Details: Little Chiefy, Heifer, Jersey, DOB 19-Jul-18,

OUR STORY:  On 18 August 2018 I went out to the farm to choose my calf. I chose Little Chiefy because she was little. It was really hard to choose her name because everyone was giving me ideas and I couldn’t really think of one. Heaps of calves were following me around, sucking and chewing on my overalls!
